MURFREESBORO — A young woman and her children narrowly escaped injury June 15 when a gate to the Cason Trail Greenway Trailhead swung open and struck her car, according to police reports.
Murfreesboro Police Officer Matthew Vaughn responded around 6:15 p.m. that Wednesday and met with Brandy Ridge at the 1100 Cason Trail address. Ridge told police she and her children were trying to leave the trailhead as a heavy storm blew up.
“As they approached the exit, a strong gust of wind caused the gate used for securing the park to blow open and into their lane of travel,” Vaughn said.
